Rage Against The Machine - Renegades With Zach's recent departure many thought it was over for Rage, but no, they continue to fight on with the release of covers album, Renegades. OK, this isn't strictly their work but they have added enough of their own unique sound and Morello's amazingly different guitar playing to make it sound like their own but have still kept it in line with the original. Stormers like Street Fighting Man and the classic Ghost of Tom Joad show this brilliantly. Their new single, Renegades of Funk, has even made some of my friends, who were stubborn Rage haters, admit that they like them. But the finest song on the album has to be MC5's Kick Out the Jams. This song is just fantastic, you just cant help but bang your head along with it. But in all this greatness, there is a down point: track no. 5, Beautiful World. The words slow ballad and Rage Against the Machine in the same sentence don't really go together so c'mon lads, stick to what your good at, hard pumpin' rock and catchy riffs. In conclusion this album is near perfection so buy it now, and i'd also like to say COME BACK ZACH!!!! Renegades gets 9/10 and is out now. |
